Snow Equipment Operator

This seasonal non-exempt position is responsible for performing a variety of operational tasks involving snow equipment, snow removal, and site management; perform related work as required.

What You Will Be Doing

Well Done Landscapes is looking for a Snow Equipment Operator that has at least two years of previous snow removal experience, similar to the duties mentioned in our job description. Below, we have listed several of the tasks/duties that will be required for this position. These duties are not limited to the ones listed below.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and reporting procedures

  • Perform machinery operator functions (e.g. snow removal with vehicle, snowplow, etc.)

  • Use hand tools and powered snow removal equipment safely and efficiently

  • Operate gasoline or diesel-powered construction equipment with auxiliary attachments, including a snow plow blade, rotary snow blower or sanding units

  • Perform minor equipment repairs and report the need for major repairs

  • Conduct snow removal procedures from driveways and/or roads

  • Spread salt or thawing chemicals onto roadway

  • Document safety and/or job issues with a digital camera

  • Meets contract scheduled deadlines

  • Role model PPE usage

  • Obey traffic laws

  • Monitor sidewalk crew, ensuring the snow is cleared from the sidewalks and driveways

  • Available to work “on call”, which may entail long and irregular hours, depending on the weather

Physical Characteristics

  • Frequent standing, walking and crouching on narrow and slippery surfaces

  • Walking for long distances on uneven surfaces

  • Working in extremely cold and freezing conditions for long periods of time

  • Carrying objects/tools that weigh up to 50 lbs

Special Notes

  • A valid class C driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment for this position

  • Each candidate is subject to a background check and/or drug test prior to the appointment
